I dreamed a dream

*sigh*

So, Susan Boyles didn't win. She's still wonderful, in my book. She gave hope to all us "ordinary folk", even if it was just for a few weeks. I'll still watch her on YouTube.

Susan, this one is for you!

Memorial Day Mini Kit

A little Memorial Day mini kit. Includes 3 papers, 3 stars, and 2 word arts. One word art is the chorus to the Lee Greenwood song "Proud to be an American" and the other is a quote on patriotism. The fonts used in the quotes include Corky, American Dreams, and McBoo HMK.

I may be making a few small word arts as an add-on this this kit.

(oops, I forgot to prefix the file with "ALFP", also forgot my "read me" sheet. The usual appiles, though)

American Idol

While the debate goes on over who should have won or who did win, I decided to make a mini kit suitable for both sides on this issue! Perhaps your household was divided on this question, or maybe you all rallied behind one singer. Or you were in another country and couldn't vote, or you couldn't get through on the jammed up phone lines. (On the PNG file with the "tried to/wanted to" wordart, I added an insertion symbol). I also threw in some "sort of" blue and silver papers to this mini kit with lots of choices on wordarts.

So... you're probably wondering who I wanted to win this year. Actually, I really liked both Adan and Kris a lot. Each of them is unique and talented and willing to use their own styles on the songs they sang. I really honestly would have been happy for either one. If I could have gotten through on the phone lines, I would have voted for both!

Anyway, here is your mini kit:

(I originally planned to start a new word art series today with Beatles song titles, but one of the scrapping websites is currently running that as a theme in their designers' contest. I'll have to hold off for a little bit while that is running, even though I thought of it months ago. I just don't want people thinking I'm intruding on somebody else's idea.)

Finally!

Yes, I am finally putting a post here on my blog. I know, I know...I have been away for much too long. I really just needed some time to myself after my illness this past winter. I am feeling better now, not up to 100%, but better than I was. It might be a while before I start posting more often, but I will do so, more than I have been anyway.

I do have a mini kit freebee for you today: "In My Life"--kit contains the lyrics to the Beatles song (in 3 versions: right aligned, centered and left aligned) in word art form, 2 lines from the song in their own word art files, 2 papers, 2 white frames, a heart, and a ribbon. Hope you enjoy it. (The lines from the song "in my life" and "I love you more" I used the font "John Lennon")

Here is a page I made with the kit. My sister-in -law has cancer, an so I made a page about her. (Yes, I did blur her face out)
